First Lady, UNFPA unite for ‘Body Right Campaign’

The UNFPA Country Representative embarked on a significant courtesy visit to Sierra Leone’s First Lady, Dr. Fatima Maada Bio, focusing on the imperative Body Right Campaign.

The primary objective of the meeting was to address the pressing issue of online shaming directed at women and girls, emphasising the need for collective action to eradicate this harmful practice.

The First Lady expressed her warm reception of the UNFPA initiative and conveyed her eagerness to collaborate on the Body Rights Campaign.

During the discussion, Her Excellency demonstrated a genuine commitment to combating the challenges faced by women and girls, both online and offline.

As a symbol of unity, she left the meeting with the powerful affirmation, “We’re in this together,” underscoring the shared responsibility of fostering a society that upholds the dignity and rights of women and girls.
