The witness continued that she recalled on a date between 1st December 2015 and 5th April 2016 in the afternoon hours when her father invited her into his bedroom while her mother was not at home.

She said upon entering the accused room, she met the accused lying naked on his bed and requested sex from her.

While about to leave the room the victim went on, her step father forcefully grabbed her and pushed her on top of the bed, undressed her and had forced sex with her.
After minutes of through sex between them, the victim said she observed blood oozing out of her virginal part and that the accused gave her water to clean herself up.
She went on that since then the accused had been having sex with her but said she did not disclose it to her mother but to an unknown man within the same community.
She furthered that her mother only came to know about the issue on 6th April 2016 when she informed her about the continued sexual harassment from her step father.

She said after telling her mother, the mother decided observe both of them until later on that same date, 6th April when she (victim) went to have her normal bath and after bathing she entered the room to dress up when her father entered the room without noticing her.
Upon interrogation from the accused as to what he was doing in the room, the witness said a bitter argument ensued between them that led her to her mother’s intervention.

The victim added that the argument continued with both her mother and father and later her mother reported the matter at the Police Station and the accused was arrested for further interrogation.
At the Police station the witness said she was issued a Police Medical Form for treatment at the Rainbow Centre.
The endorsed medical form was later returned to the Police and she was asked to make a statement together with other witnesses.

The accused faces one count charge of sexual penetration contrary to law.

 

The accused was refused bail and was sent on remand at the Pademba Road Correctional Centre in Freetown until the next adjourned date, 22nd June, 2016 for further hearing.
