Hon. Mrs. Uju Kennedy Ohaneye, Nigeria’s Minister of Women Affairs, has arrived in the Freetown international airport Sierra Leone for the launch of the We Are Equal Campaign led by First Lady Her Excellency Dr. Fatima Maada Bio.

Building on the success of the ‘Hands Off Our Girls’ program, We Are Equal aims to tackle critical issues affecting women and girls in Sierra Leone and beyond. The ‘Hands Off Our Girls’ program has made significant strides in combating rape, Preventing early marriage and teenage pregnancy, increasing access to justice for victims of gender-based violence.

First Lady Dr. Fatima Maada Bio, alongside other African First Ladies, champions impactful interventions in education.  2024 is dedicated to advocating for educational programs throughout Africa. These efforts revitalize existing initiatives to achieve Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4: ensuring inclusive and equitable quality education and promoting lifelong learning opportunities for all.
