Former Freetown City Captain Edward Thullah joins E.E Lions

East End (E.E) Lions has confirmed the signing of Former Freetown City FC Midfielder and Captain, Edward Thullah aka Putu on a permanent deal.

E.E Lions Head of Media and Communications, Alhassan Idris Bangura said Putu joined the 14-times Sierra Premier League winners on a three-year contract for an undisclosed fee, with an option to extend for a further year.

Edward Thullah said: “I feel very excited in joining East End Lions FC. This is a very special club and it’s like a dream come true. I had several offers from top Premier League Clubs, but I believe East End Lions is the ideal place to be and best for the progression of my career.

“I know a lot about this great club having been an opponent on numerous occasions. I know the manager and most of my new teammates. I know I will have a seamless transition in the Squad. I am here to help the team achieve it targeted goals and this squad has what it takes to meet those expectations.”

Putu has developed into one of the best attacking midfielders and set-piece specialist in the country’s top flight lead and has garnered the most man of the match awards in the ongoing league.

Team Manager, Zainu Deen Karim described Edward Thullah aka Putu as a “fantastic” signing with “exceptional qualities”.

Zainu Deen Karim said: “He is the perfect fit and the missing jigsaw in our Squad. In addition to his outstanding technical abilities, Putu will add valuable experience and leadership skills to the squad, and we are looking forward to seeing the benefits of these qualities on the pitch in the second phase of the league and beyond.”

The player is set to make his official debut at home against Ports Authority FC tomorrow 14th April, 2023 in the opening match of the second round of the 2022/23 Sierra Leone Premier League.

In another latest news, the East End Lions FC have made contact with Israeli Premier League Club, Hapoel Haifa FC for a six months loan deal of Midfielder Kwame Quee (Q7).
