A woman selling at Congo Market in Freetown, Memunatu Sankoh told AYV that she is very happy about the performance of Mayor Yvonne Aki Sawyerr. She added that Mayor Yvonne Aki Sawyerr is the only mayor she admires despite that fact that the mayor is from the opposition APC but is working under the SLPP dispensation. She used the opportunity to prevail on all and sundry to support Mayor Yvonne Aki Sawyerr, adding that she (Mayoy Yvonne Aki Sawyerr) is a one in a million woman who does not consider political affiliations when it comes to serving her country and people.
Also speaking to AYV, Kenneth Smart working at a government office said he is particularly impressed over the way and manner Mayor Yvonne Aki Sawyerr has been able to maintain discipline in the city. Mr. Smart maintained that Mayor Yvonne Aki Sawyerr has ensured since her assumption of office that traffic congestion within the Freetown Central Business District (CBD) is minimized while pedestrian and vehicular movements are normal and not suffering from influx of traders overcrowding the streets.
Dozens of other residents in Freetown made similar sentiments. Among these were prominent government officials and even opposition members all praising the efforts of Mayor Yvonne Aki Sawyerr for raising the profile of Freetown and making this city be counted among other cities across the world.
