The Prosecutor, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Eric A. Deen, told the court that the accused person on Sunday, 28th October, 2018, at Furniture Junction, Allen Town, in the east of Freetown, due to careless driving, murdered his wife, Kadiatu Fillie.

In his testimony, the bike rider who is the second prosecution witness in the matter identified the accused, stating that he knew the deceased and recalled 28th October, 2018 when the deceased boarded his commercial bike and asked him to take her home, adding that on their way, the deceased changed her mind and asked him to return her to the point he had taken her earlier.

He went on to tell the court that when they returned to the point, he met a certain vehicle parked at the junction, adding that the deceased alighted from the motorbike and started walking towards the vehicle while communicating with the driver.

He said the driver suddenly moved the vehicle causing the back tire to ride over the deceased, adding that he later chased the vehicle to inform the driver that he had hit someone.

He said they returned to the scene but that on arrival the deceased had already been taken to the hospital.

He stated that much later in the day, he learnt that the deceased had died and that he later made statement to the police. The matter continues.
