“One such help that we decided upon was to arrange with hospitals in Sierra Leone to assist them with their structure so that we can come with doctors from Germany and operate on children free of cost. In 2010 we started this process and we have been coming since then, we did not come in 2015 and 2016 because of the Ebola.”

Dr Moley Wright said this year he came with four Pediatric Surgeons, two Aestheticians and two nurses and already in their four days of operations they have done 32.

Dr Tilman Gresing, one of the doctors said this is the second time he is coming to Sierra Leone and they plan to do about 80 operations before they leave on the 2nd of February.

He said the type of operations they are doing some he said are major ones and the other are minor, but said none of the operation has anything to do with Orthopedic surgery.

“We are correcting some birth defects, and have done some eye surgeries and others have their fingers join together. There are other operations we have done and we will try our best to get about 80 done before we live. 100 children were prepared for us but we will not be able to treat them all and we hope they will get treatment elsewhere or when we come back next year we will treat them.”

Mr. Harish Agnani who is in charge of Choithram hospital said the last four years they have been hosting them and they come with their drugs and other logistics they need.

“For us Choithram, we will come in if necessary and we are feeding all the children that have been treated and we will make sure that the care they need after the team has left next week, we will give. I want to thank Dr Baimba Baryoh who is one of the doctors that have been helping children who needed surgery and some of them he has done free of charge.”

Mr. Harish Agnani averred that they have done so many surgeries free of charge since the landslide. He said they have one child with brain problem that he operated on. He said he is doing fine but needs another surgery that will be done tomorrow Saturday by Dr Songo Williams.
