After the accused person had allegedly murdered her boyfriend, Samuel Ansumana Giboto Sesay at the above-mentioned address, she attempted to flee the scene of crime, but was arrested by Detective Police Constable Kamara M. N. through the assistance of youths in that community who quickly informed the police about the alleged murder.
The alleged murderer, Bintu Mansaray is currently incarcerated at the Female Correctional Center at Jomo Kenyattss Road in Freetown, on the orders of Magistrate Mark Ngegba, presiding over the Freetown Magistrate Court No. 2 at Pademba Road in Freetown.
In another development, Magistrate Mark Ngegba on Thursday 9th May this year remanded one Janet Sandy at the Female Correctional Centre for the offence of Larceny.
The State alleged that the accused person being a House Keeper at Room 40 Golden Tulip Kimbima Hotel at Aberdeen in the Freetown Judicial District in the Western Area of the Republic of Sierra Leone stole therein the sum of six thousand, one hundred United States dollars.
The said sum of money stolen by the accused person is equivalent to fifty six million, seven hundred and thirty thousand Leones property of Maurice Fongu Tidegun.
The charge preferred against the accused Janet Sandy negates Section (2) of the Larceny Act of 1916. She was arrested on 5th April this year in Freetown.
When the charge was put to the accused person Janet Sandy who resides at 55 Cape Road Aberdeen, she pleaded guilty.
The matter was prosecuted by Assistant Superintendent of Police, (ASP) Idrissa Bangura.
Magistrate Mark Ngegba adjourned the matter to Wednesday 15 May 2019 for sentencing, since the accused person Janet Sandy pleaded guilty to the charge preferred against her in respect of the matter under adjudication.
