Frankly Bode Gibson mentioned “we have tried so many strategies in the past and we hope to see this one successful and achievable.”

The Mayor stated that if the door to door project did not successful they would initiate other strategies to keep Freetown city clean, as he added that the council determined to ensure the cleanliness of the capital city.

He furthered confirmed that the project tends to foster employment opportunity for youth in the country, pointing out that the project would absorb youth as well as economically empowering them.

British High Commissioner to Sierra Leone, Guy Warrington called on the youth to take care of what has been provided for them as he stated that the provided items was for the good for the youth and the nation, noting that the youth have been given the opportunity to do something for their nation and also empowered themselves in the process.

“It very important that we take care of our city,  I am very pleased as part of our two hundred and forty million-pounds (240,000,000) support to presidential delivery team and we are putting two million pounds into this enterprise.” Guy Warrington mentioned.

He reiterated that waste management had been a serious problem and that the assembling of youth to collect waste happened to be a brilliant idea, as he further encouraged them to utilize the tricycle for the intended purpose for which it was meant for.

Chief of Staff, Saidue Conton Sesay called on the youth to be steadfast as there would be challenges along the way and that the door to door project could be the first project wherein youth would be paid to collect waste, he pleaded to the youth to uphold the principles of all the training they have gone through as that would make the business to grow.

Representing the Leicester community, Patrick Turay expressed thanks and appreciation and promised to do their work diligently and that what has been provided would create employment for fellow youth, stating that they are determined at the moment to create impact.
