Honourable Justice Alhaji Momoh Jah-Stevens has adjourned the high-profile Murder trial of Abdul Kpaka, accused of killing his girlfriend, Sia Fatmata Kamara to Thursday, September 26, 2024.

The trial, which has drawn significant public attention, has seen Kpaka being represented by defense attorneys C. A. Bangura and A. Fullah and more, as he is facing two serious charges of Murder and Perverting the Course of Justice.

He was accused of fabricating evidence related to the case. Despite the gravity of the allegations, Kpaka pleaded Not Guilty to both charges during the hearing.

Presiding over the case, Hon. Justice Alhaji Momoh Jah-Stevens assured both parties that the trial would be conducted impartially, with no emotional influence affecting the judicial process.

He emphasised the importance of adhering strictly to the law, calling on the prosecution to submit the necessary criminal procedure act to guide the proceedings.

Hon. Justice Alhaji Momoh Jah-Stevens said: “I shall not grant you bail throughout the trial.” He ruled that Kpaka must remain in confinement for the duration of the trial, clarifying that this decision was made in the interest of both Kpaka’s safety and that of the State.

In his closing remarks, the honourable judge urged the legal representatives on both sides to fully prepare for the upcoming proceedings, stressing the need for thorough comprehension of the case to ensure a fair trial.

The trial is expected to resume with both the prosecution and defense set to present further arguments.
