Youth Advocate, Sheku Foryoh
Dear Mr. President,
I am writing to express my deep concern about the current state of affairs in the Ministry of Youth Affairs. As a renowned youth advocate and Founder and Chief Executive Director of Youth and Children’s Advocacy Panel (YACAP), I have witnessed firsthand the struggles and challenges faced by the young people of Sierra Leone.
The recent actions of the former Minister of Youth Affairs Mohamed Orman Bangura have been disappointing, to say the least. The lack of effective leadership and vision has hindered the progress of our youth, leaving them feeling marginalized and neglected. It is imperative that we have a new Minister who genuinely cares about the welfare and development of our young people.
Mr. President, I urge you appoint a new minister who possesses the passion, expertise, and commitment required to drive positive change. The ideal candidate should have a deep understanding of the challenges faced by our youth, including unemployment, lack of access to education and healthcare, and poverty.
They should be someone who can develop and implement effective policies and programs that address these challenges, providing opportunities for young people to thrive and reach their full potential. A minister who is approachable, transparent, and accountable, and who can work collaboratively with stakeholders, including civil society organizations, the private sector, and young people themselves.
Mr. President, the youth of Sierra Leone are looking up to you for leadership and guidance. They are eager to contribute to the development of our nation, but they need a supportive and enabling environment to do so. I implore you to make a wise decision in appointing a new Minister of Youth Affairs, one who will prioritize the needs and aspirations of our young people.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.
Sincerely,
Sheku Foryoh
