Honorable Justice Momoh Jah Steven has emphasized the significance of fasting in Islam, urging Muslims to observe it with sincerity, patience, and devotion. While delivering his sermon, on Friday 14th March 2025 at Masjid Al-Fatha.
He reminded believers that fasting is a command from Allah meant to help them restrain from food, water, and intimacy, ultimately leading to better behavior and spiritual growth.
He stressed that fasting is not a form of punishment but rather a means of attaining blessings and rewards from Allah. “Fasting strengthens our health, especially by boosting white blood cells. It also serves as a shield against evil deeds,” he said.
Justice Steven encouraged Muslims to approach fasting with commitment, as it carries numerous benefits, both spiritually and physically. He urged everyone to be kind, avoid bullying, and practice patience, particularly with their parents.
“Fasting should go hand in hand with prayer,” he reminded the congregation, before making a special dua for all Muslims, asking Allah to accept their good deeds and bring them closer to Him.
