Innovator Kelvin Doe ends productive visit to Nigeria

Sierra Leonean innovator Kelvin Doe has concluded a five-day visit to Nigeria, where he took part in a series of events aimed at promoting science and technology education.

Kelvin was invited by the organisers of the “Science Olympiad Nigeria” programme and also spent time at Covenant University in Ogun State. He thanked the Vice Chancellor and staff of the university for their warm welcomeand support throughout his stay.

“I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to connect with students and educators from across Nigeria,” Kelvin said in a statement. “We had meaningful discussions about advancing maker learning initiatives.”

Kelvin also met with the Vice Chancellor of Covenant University, Professor Timothy A. Anake, and described the meeting as productive. He said their talks would help shape the next phase of his work with the university.

He also thanked his brother Kennedy for hosting him in Lagos and making him feel at home during his short visit.

Kelvin Doe became famous in Sierra Leone and around the world after building his own radio station using scrap materials when he was just a teenager. Since then, he has continued to work on projects that promote innovation and support young inventors in Africa.
