The two Students Ibrahim Abdul Latheef Kamara and Alusine Jalloh of the Engineering Department who represented and signed on behalf of the other members of FBC/MJ welcomed the Idea and promised to take advantage of IOU’s 1 million scholarship project.

“This year, IOU has promised to give out 100 scholarships to the less privileged Sierra Leoneans to study at Bachelors level in the areas of Islamic Studies, Education (B. Ed), Islamic Economics – Banking & Finance, Psychology, Information Technology, Business Administration, Arabic & English Languages plus 24 other free Diploma Courses”, Sheikh Kallay confirmed to students and others present at the ceremony. Alusine Jalloh is the interim coordinator for IOU at the FBC campus.

According to Sheik Kallay, one of examples of the flexibility and adaptability of the Islamic Online University is that you can be a student or employee and you still remain an IOU student regardless of your current engagement.

He went on to inform his audience that IOU is tuition-free, completely online, English Medium and its method fit and suit every one. It was established in 2007 and its student body has reached 435,000 from 250 countries worldwide. In its Vision 2020 Project, IOU is set to dish out one million scholarships for countries that have been left behind in terms of tertiary education.
