Kasho awards Ebola fighters

The ceremony which took place at Jahbex Hall attracted a good number of people from all sectors in the society.

Addressing a gathering of prominent personalities during the ceremony Kasho Hollande Cole said that this year`s award ceremony is to appreciate people of all walks of life that have played major role in the fight against the deadly epidemic in the Western Rural District. He noted that the country’s economy has been seriously affected due to the deadly virus that has killed innocent Sierra Leoneans and called on all residents of the Western Rural District to stop washing dead bodies and take the necessary precautionary measures to avoid contacting the Ebola disease. The Sierra Leone Red Cross burial team grabbed the best burial team award, Western Advocacy & Agriculture Organization grabbed the best Civil Society Organization award, Isata Samura bagged the best female texter; whilst the best male texter went to Rashid Bullah.

Abdul Karim Yillah won the best youth, Councillor Fatmata; Bora Kamara, the best Councilor in the district, Jakariah Conteh best Headman, Maraba Gibril- best male artist and Inspector Kargbo- best Operation Officer.

The best Ebola reporter was grabbed by Raymond Coker Davies, Abu Bakarr Ibrahim Turay- best Ebola presenter and Radio Tombo- the best radio station.

In the Disc Jockey contest, Mohamed Macathy Bangura of Kalleone radio grabbed the best judge award whilst, Ibrahim Lopez grabbed the champion`s award for the best DJ for 2015 and was awarded a certificate and a brand new computer followed by Mohamed Alie Bah who came second position and was awarded a certificate and brand new musical set.
