Former Head Coach of Sierra Leone National Team, Leone Stars, John Keister has completed his tenure, thanking government, SLFA, sports ministry, NSA, players and supporters.
In a letter, Keister said: “As my tenure as the head coach of our esteemed football team comes to an end, I am overwhelmed with a deep sense of gratitude and pride. This journey has been immensely wonderful with an extraordinary journey filled with unforgettable moments, remarkable achievements, and invaluable lessons each of which has left an indelible mark on my coaching career.
“Firstly, allow me to express my heartfelt appreciation to every player within this amazing Leone Stars of ours, who poured their hearts and souls into the game throughout my time as head coach. Your unshakeable dedication, unwavering resilience, and commitment to excellence have been truly inspiring.
“Witnessing your growth as athletes and individuals has been the most rewarding aspect of my coaching experience. I am truly proud of the progress we have made and the triumphs we have celebrated together. Let me equally extend my sincere gratitude to the coaching staff for their electrifying support, expertise, and tireless efforts behind the scenes.
“Your collective knowledge and strategic guidance in our team’s potential have been instrumental in all our successes. Together, I am proud to say that we have built a culture of unity, discipline, and sportsmanship, setting a solid foundation for future achievements.
“To our indelible and loyal supporters, thank you for your passionate cheers, unwavering support, and undying belief in our team. Be it on overseas tours, our effort in qualifying to the Nations Cup and much more, your presence on the sidelines, in the stands, and in our hearts has been an incredible source of motivation and strength. Your zest to our team has been the inspiration that has propelled us to greater heights.
“To the Government of Sierra Leone, management and administrative staff, I am humbled for this opportunity and your invaluable support and resources showered during my tenure. Your tireless efforts behind the scenes have provided us with the necessary tools and infrastructure to thrive. Your belief in our vision and dedication to our team’s success have been crucial in our journey.
“As I round up in reminiscing on our opponents we faced on the field, through fierce competition and vigor, you pushed us to our limits, forcing us to dig deep and discover our true potential. It is through these challenging encounters that we have grown stronger, both individually and as a team. Thank you for being worthy adversaries and teaching us valuable lessons along the way.
“As my time as head coach concludes, I am filled with a profound sense of gratitude for the opportunity to lead this remarkable Leone Stars team. The memories we have created, the bonds we have forged, and the achievements we have earned will forever hold a special place in my heart. I am honored to have been a part of this remarkable team, and I will always be your biggest fan I am grateful

Words are immeasurable when I begin to imagine all you have been through in support of my career. From the earliest days when I dared to dream big, you were there, believing in me even when I doubted myself. Your belief in my abilities has been a constant source of motivation, pushing me to reach for the stars and pursue my passions wholeheartedly.
