Country Director for Atlantic Lumley Hotel, Edward Saffa said they decided to start with learning materials and school bags in supporting less privilege children in different public schools. He said most parents of children attending public schools hardly meet their pupils’ school charges.
He disclosed further that Atlantic Lumley Hotel considers education a key priority in its cooperate social responsibility and that was why they decided to be supporting schools.
He emphasized that they would continue in the area of education and they would try to expand in other aspects in supporting education.
Legal Advice for the Atlantic Lumley Hotel, Basita Michael called on the pupils to take proper care of what have been provided for them. She encouraged them to be dedicated to their academic pursuit, stating further that it is only education that can transform their lives for a better future.
Basita Michael furthered that the foundation is providing the learning materials in order to ensure that the pupils have better stationeries that will enhance quality education and one that will discourage borrowing among them.
Head Teacher for the Cape Community Primary School, Claudia Gooding thanked the foundation for the laudable venture.
She confirmed that the donation came as a surprise that they were not expecting it.
One of the beneficiaries, Mohamed Kargbo expressed appreciation for the Hotel’s support, while also promising that he will do all he can to share the items evenly.
