Margaedah Michaella Samai: 100 Outstanding Young Leaders in Africa; Awarded a Royal African Medal in Nigeria

A young enthusiastic Sierra Leonean Advocate Margaedah Michaella Samai, recently selected as one of the 100 Outstanding Young Leaders in Africa and was impel to the forefront of African Success stories when she was awarded a Royal African Medal, and indicted into the Yoruba Royal court in Nigeria.

The award was bestowed on her as part of an initiative of the Royal African Leadership Forum (RAYLF) one of the World’s leading organic and sustainable mechanisms harnessing, shaping and recognizing the ambitious energies and success stories of millions of 20 to 39 years old across the Globe.

Ms. Margaedah Michaella Samai is a highly motivated advocate with extensive experience in human rights and a proven track record of innovative activism and influencing social change in her country.

She currently works as the Program Coordinator for Wave’s Alliance Sierra Leone Chapter.

Margaedah, is the Executive Director and Coordinator of Women’s World, Sierra Leone. Her charitable organization is dedicated to helping young girls access education and stay in school through sexual and reproductive health education. Which focus on ending period poverty and improving menstrual hygiene.

Over the years, she has earned recognition for herself by creating impacts in communities and the lives of young people in her country and around the world. This interest has presented her with the recognition of being among the Fifty Most Influential Women in Sierra Leone in 2018 through her charity organization, Women’s World, which focuses on menstrual hygiene education.

Margaedah was appointed as Opportunities Hub, 100 Most Influential Young People 2021.

She currently holds a Certificate in Leadership, Media, and Communication from the Reciprocal Exchange Component of the Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders, with support from the US Department of State Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs. She has represented her country on multiple platforms, both locally and internationally. Recognized at the Model Africa Union in Ethiopia for her significant contribution to making the Africa Youth Month Simulation Summit on Climate Change, COP27, 2023, a success.

Best Country Delegate for her role in leadership capacity development at the International Young Leaders Conference 2021, she was selected for the Africa Presidential Leadership Program, a program designed to bring together African youths with different beliefs and affiliations under one roof for peace and development. The APLP program got her a slot at the World Youth Forum.

Margaedah was voted National Vice President for the Children’s Forum Network in Sierra Leone in 2013. She represented the children of Sierra Leone on higher-level discussion panels at both the national and international levels. She was also appointed Plan International’s Children’s Ambassador.

An alumni of the International Youth Diplomacy Conference. She was awarded for her dedication and hard work in implementing a vital health service through an evidence-based surf therapy program in South Africa.
