The Executive Director of the National Sports Authority (NSA), Dr. Emmanuel Saffa Abdulai, has commended the Chairman of East End Lions (EE Lions) Football Club, Amb. Anthony Navo Jr., for his efforts towards transforming the Club Playing Field at Trade Centre in Freetown.

During an on-the-spot visit to the field over the weekend, Dr. Abdulai said, “I visited the East End Lions playing field, which has been completely transformed into a modern sports facility by Amb. Junior Navo. I am pleased to have witnessed this unannounced unveiling of a Renaissance mind. This is truly massive, especially for communities like this. Thank you, Putin!”

Ambassador Anthony Navo Jr., as Chairman of East End Lions Football Club, has been instrumental in transforming the Trade Centre Field into a modern playing ground. This transformation included the installation of artificial turf and the turning of the field into a state-of-the-art facility.

The project was a promise made by Chairman Navo to the Club and its supporters, and its completion signifies a major step forward for the club.

In a more detailed breakdown, the Trade Centre Field, previously a less developed area, has been upgraded into a professional football pitch. The installation of artificial turf is a key component of the transformation, providing a high-quality playing surface.

The transformation is expected to improve the Club’s image, boost morale among players and fans, and contribute to their success in the league. The project has received support from various partners, including Africell Sierra Leone, GentoGroup, BM Kodami, and AYV Media Empire.

FIFA officials have commended the progress made on the field, recognising the significant improvements. The transformation extends beyond just the pitch, with the unveiling of a 52-seater bus for the Club, further supporting their logistics and operations.

East End Lions is a professional football club in Sierra Leone based in the capital, Freetown. They play in Sierra Leone’s top soccer league, the Sierra Leone National Premier League.
