The President unveiled the statues in honouring the great Sierra Leonean Patriot, Philanthropist & Business Magnate, Ambassador Gibril Santigie Moseray Fadika (commonly called ‘Super’), in Fourah Bay Road, in close proximity to Cottage Hospital, in Freetown.
The statue was erected by the Moseray Fadika Trust, with support from the family, friends and organisations in Sierra Leone and in the Diaspora, who are affiliated to Ambassador Moseray Fadika.
The statue is part of our ongoing work to keep Ambassador Fadika’s legacy alive and develop monuments and projects that reflect our collective aspirations as Sierra Leoneans and the values that Ambassador Fadika stood for.
Ambassador Fadika inspired all us to work towards eradicating poverty and creating jobs. He told the nation: “WE ARE BORN POOR. WE MUST NOT DIE POOR”
The ceremony featured prayers and personal reflections from Ambassador Fadika’s widow, children, brothers, sisters, relatives, friends and other stakeholders.
The family and friends of the late Ambassador Moseray Fadika applauded the public, most sincerely for the support in their recent bereavement. Your gentle sympathy and support will be remembered with great affection and gratitude.
