Speaking on the purpose of the organisation, Hon. Kaifala Sheku Conteh said the organisation happened to be a National Muslim Youth in Action as the name implies, the organisation would as an umbrella body of different Islamic youth groups with a main aim of changing the course of Young people in promoting Islam as a religion and help youth change their lives for the better, Kaifala noted.
He went on to say that as Islamic Scholars, youth or followers of Islam, they should not mix politics with religion.
Presidential Youth Aid Alie Conteh said that Prayer is important in a man’s life as it helps in shaping the lives of people and situations as well. He said he is a testimony of prayer as his appointment came based on his fervent prayers he offered to Allah.
Giving the Keynote address, President National Tax Force Muslim Prayer Group Federation and Timber Business man Alie Suma, congratulated the members of the National Muslim Youth in Action organisation noting that it is a good venture as the development of any country largely lies in the hands of young people.
He encouraged the young people to adapt the act of competing and not complaining as they continue in life.
Other speakers including the representative of the Legal Aid Board, admonished the young people to be steadfast in the things of God and to also put in their best for the growth of the Organisation. A recitation on some of the verses in the holy Quran was made.
The Launching of the National Muslim Youth in Action Organisation was held in Wellington, East of Freetown and it saw in attendance, young people of different Muslim youth organisations together with women and elders of different Masjids across the country.
