NCRA establishes sub office in Mile 91

The National Civil Registration Authority (NCRA) is pleased to announce the official opening of its new sub office in Mile 91 Town, Yoni Mamaila chiefdom, Tonkolili district. Address: Magburaka Road Masorie, Former Mix point close to the Magistrate Court.

This initiative is part of the NCRA’s commitment to bringing vital civil registration services closer to the communities of Sierra Leone.

Headquartered in Magburaka Town, the district Headquarters of Tonkolili, the establishment of sub offices across the nation is a strategic step aimed at ensuring that no one is left behind in accessing essential services. Mr. Mohamed MubashirMassaquoi, the Director General of NCRA, emphasizes the importance of collaboration with local communities, councillors, members of parliament, institutional heads, and civil society organisations to fulfil this vision.

“The NCRA is dedicated to proposing effective solutions for civil registration through our partnerships within the communities,” Mr. Massaquoi always stated. “We encourage our staff to maintain these collaborative efforts, particularly in areas where NCRA does not yet have offices, to ensure that our services reach the doorsteps of all the people of Sierra Leone.”

The NCRA extends its heartfelt gratitude to the paramount chiefs and stakeholders of various chiefdoms in Tonkolilidistrict for their unwavering support in mobilising communities to access NCRA services. This initiative aims to alleviate the economic burden and travel risks associated with civil registration, particularly for obtaining the National ID Card.

Abdul Rahim Sheriff, the NCRA District Registration Officer for Tonkolili district, expressed his appreciation for the collective efforts made thus far: “Thanks to everyone involved, we are on the path to achieving what once seemed unattainable. Plans are underway to extend our services to more areas, ensuring that we continue to meet the needs of our communities.”

The opening of the Mile 91 sub office marks a significant milestone in the NCRA’s vision of promoting effective civil registration. We remain committed to working hand in hand with the citizens of Sierra Leone to enhance access to these essential services.
