The Thursday meeting was held at the SLFA Headquarters in Kingtom, bringing together representatives from the aggrieved group and few from the Executive of the FA, but Madam Isha was not in attendance.

At the onset of the meeting, the Vice President 1 of SLFA, Brima Mazola Kamara, said the impasse in the administrative circle of football has been around for a long time and has caused problems that have impact on the players.

While Unisa Alim Sesay a.k.a. Awoko, the Chairman of the Aggrieved party, was making a statement, he said they have no problems with Christopher Kamara, the General Secretary of the FA, since he is an ordinary employee of the Association. “But we have problems with the set-up of the Executive. We have problems with the elected officials. And Congress will resolve our problems,” he maintained.

By extension, he said they do not recognize the makeup of the 7-Man Committee since its creation is not constitutional.

On his part as the leader of sports in the country, Minister Ahmed Khanou said he wants to leave a legal blueprint that will govern the conduct of sports. “I want to provide a quiet sports landscape since there has been a lot of turmoil. We have brought the game into disrepute and all of us are equally responsible. Do we want to continue in this path?” he asked.

He said nobody is wrong and nobody is right. “In sports, we make a family. I will provide the level playing field for all since I don’t want to fail President Koroma who trusts in my leadership,” he pointed out, adding that with this current structure, they cannot produce an athlete of international repute.

The meeting was climaxed with other members making pertinent contributions by lauding the initiative of the Minister and expressing hope to comply with the demands for peace.
