The National Grand Coalition (NGC) Party is gearing up for a significant event in its political calendar as it prepares to host the 1st ever National Symposium on 12th and 13th April 2024.

This Symposium, organised by the Diaspora regions and chapter members of the NGC, comes at a crucial time for the party as it seeks to rebrand and reposition itself ahead of the 2028 elections.

Since the 2023 General Elections, the NGC has faced numerous challenges, including ensuring that the ruling government adheres to the terms of the alliance agreement.

Additionally, the Party has encountered other obstacles that have tested its resilience. In response to these challenges, the motivated NGC executive has diligently worked to restructure, rebrand, and reposition the party as a powerful political force ready for governance in the 2028 election.

Over the last four months, the NGC executive has been focused on implementing changes to revitalise the party. This includes restructuring and re-organizing the executive and the membership at all levels, from the regional and district levels to the constituency and ward levels.

These efforts have set the stage for the upcoming 2024 NGC Diaspora Symposium and the National Delegate Conference.

The symposium is poised to be a pivotal moment for the NGC, providing a platform for members to come together, exchange ideas, and chart the way forward. It will serve as an opportunity to showcase the progress made by the party and to engage in discussions about the future direction of the NGC.

The event is expected to draw participants from across the diaspora regions and chapters, the EU Delegation, the UN Resident Coordinating Office, the African Union, ECOWAS, the US Embassy, and the UK High Commissioner, the Media and guests reflecting on the widespread support and commitment to the NGC’s vision.

The idea concept of the symposium will include policy discussions, strategic planning, and capacity building. Participants can expect to delve into good governance, economic development, social welfare, and other pertinent issues central to the NGC’s agenda.

The symposium will capture the challenges the NGC has faced since the 2018 General Elections, as well as the party’s efforts to restructure, rebrand, and reposition itself for the 2028 elections. This emphasises the party’s resilience in the face of obstacles, its commitment to reform and adapt to changing circumstances, and its focus on renewal and strengthening for the future.

The significance of the 2024 NGC Diaspora Symposium cannot be understated, as it represents a crucial step in the party’s journey towards the 2028 elections. By bringing together its diaspora members and engaging in constructive dialogue, the NGC aims to consolidate its position as a formidable political entity with a clear vision for the future.

The symposium emulates the party’s commitment to adapt, evolve, and emerge more decisive in the face of challenges, ultimately positioning itself for success in the upcoming electoral cycle.

As the NGC continues to navigate the complexities of the political landscape, the 2024 NGC Diaspora Symposium stands as a testament to the party’s determination to forge ahead with purpose and resilience.

It serves as a rallying point for members to unite, reinvigorate, and set the stage for the transformative journey ahead. With the symposium poised to be a milestone event, the NGC is poised to reaffirm its relevance and readiness to lead as it sets its sights on shaping the future of governance in the 2028 elections.
