The president made this statement at the Nigeria High Commission in Sierra Leone, Hill Cot Road in Freetown, on Friday 28th June, 2019. He was addressing journalists about the organization’s upcoming inauguration of the new executives of the organization.

The president said their plan is to support the Sierra Leone government with its free education programme and free healthcare initiative for all Sierra Leoneans.

He said that according to their record, there are over five thousand Nigerians in Sierra Leone including one hundred and sixteen professional medical doctors who are willing to give helping hands to support the Sierra Leone government achieve free healthcare.

Oyebola further explained that the health care centre will not be completely free of cost and at the same time will also be a non-profit venture.

“The healthcare center will not be completely free. People will have to pay a token to access the facility and the schools will be open to all nationalities,” he informed journalists.

The Nigerians in Diaspora Organization (NIDO) was formed in 2001 and established by an Act of the Nigerian Parliament with a vision to harness the tremendous skill, exposure, expertise and knowledge of Nigerian residents outside Nigerian with a view to using this as a way of promoting multilateral and socio-economic development of Nigeria and the host nations across the world.

This organization will be inaugurating its new executive of the Sierra Leone Chapter and unveil key NIDO priority projects on 6th July, 2019 at the Bintumani Conference Centre in Freetown.
