Nine Persons Convicted For Loitering

According to the charge sheet, the convicts were found loitering around different places within the Freetown Judicial District of the Republic of Sierra Leone.

All convicts pleaded guilty to the offence as charged. They were then convicted and slammed alternative sentence.

The convicts were represented by lawyer A. Sheriff, M.Y. Kanu and M.N. Mansaray.

In another development, one Foday Kamara has been relocated to the Male Correctional Centre at Pademba Road in Freetown on the orders of Santigie Bangura.

The accused person is charged with the offences of Conspiracy to Commit a Felony, contrary to law, Robbery, Wounding and Robbery with Aggravation, contrary to Section (23), sub-section (1a) of the Larceny Act of 1916, as repealed and replaced by Section (2) Act No.16 of 1971.

The Particulars of Offence states that accused person Foday Kamara conspired with unknown individuals, armed with cutlasses and knives, and robbed Joseph Freeman of his computer laptop valued at two million Leones; one Techno mobile phone and other personal items all to the total value of ten million, two hundred and fifty thousand Leones. The alleged incident took place on 19 November 2017.

Police further alleged that the accused person also robbed Madam Augusta Freeman on the above- mentioned date of her personal belongings valued at nine million, eighty thousand Leones.

Accused person Foday Kamara was whisked back to the Male Correctional Centre at Pademba Road and the matter comes again for hearing on Tuesday 31 July 2018.
