The activities report was done by Kadiatu F. Kamara who is the Scribe for the committee. She explained about the state of affairs of National Paralympics Committee (NPC) since they took over a year ago.
She disclosed that the committee made lots of strides to bring other people on board for the betterment of the committee
“Our first point of call was the Disable Commission where we share our idea which is also similar to theirs,” according to the executive Secretary.
She added “it was in that meeting that the NPC appointed Bernard Turay to be part of the Disable Commission Committee which was charged with the responsibility to prepare for the International Disable Day on the 3rd December 2015 in Makeni”.
The NPC Scribe went on to explain that they were supposed to organize sporting event, but this activity was called off on the 11th hour by the Disable Commission which according to them was due to financial constraint.
”We met with representatives of different associations under the NPC.
“We also met with Greatest Goal Ministry (GGM) at their Lakka residence, where we had a fruitful discussion that brought them on board.
As I speak, they are part of the committee and a member of the GGM; they always attend our executive meetings,” she disclosed.
She went on “the commissions last year able to take a six-man delegation which comprised of three athletes and three officials to the All Africa Games.
“We also took part in the post ebola activities organized by the National Olympic Committee of Sierra Leone at the Siaka Stevens Stadium where a lot of our athletes showcased their talents”.
Further explaining the activities of the NPC,  Kadiatu said the committee also embarked on capacity building as more coaches were trained as well as administrators and athletes included in the Organizational Capacity Program (OCP) courses which enlightened those who took part in the Paralympics movement.
The financial report was done by Magdalene S Konneh which covered July 2015 to date.
The state of NPC was done by the President, Unisa Deen Kargbo, who said the NPC- SL, one year ago had no Constitution but the respecter of good governance and the law, stating that he has successfully guided the team to produce the framework for which he said today “we have a Constitution that is in line with the National Sports Policy of the country”.
He also stated that a year ago, when they took over the committee there was no financial structure, this is not because “our predecessors were corrupt but there was no means of fundraising as the NPC-SL did to receive subvention from government or any international body.
He also revealed that the NPC-SL in the past did not have athletes readily available for competitions but today they have more than enough to be utilised for different sports.
He also stated that we have not been prominent in international conferences but I have made it a priority and in November last year I was in Mexico through personal sponsorship to attend the international Paralympic Committee General Assembly where many issues were learned.
NPC President said they were able to implement strategic plans, that is, Agitos Foundation Training Meeting with associations to determine the starting point.
Madam Pamela Williams, in her statement on behalf of sports council and the Ministry of sports, thanked the NPC-SLE for a work well done, and appealed to the executive members to work with unity for the good of the committee.
She said the sports council and the sports ministry will continue to give support to the committee in terms of development.
The AGM was well by attending by associations’ representatives and members of the sports family who also made vital contribution for the success of the Program.
The program was chaired by the Second Vice President, Zainab Y Koroma.
