At a jam-packed-hall dominated by Sierra Leonean students, Ambassador and other staff of the embassy including members of the business community, Lawyer Tuma Jabbi said NRA’s target to reach 20 percent of the country’s GDP by 2023 was set by President Julius Maada Bio.
She added that her institution is determined to meet such target in order to ensure that the needed revenue for national development is always ready.
“I will continue to support polices within BRITACOM so as to achieve President Bio’s target, which will be subsequently used to transform Sierra Leone,” she noted.
According to her, when the ‘New Direction’ administration ushered in the Commissioner General, Dr. Samuel Jibao and her, they inherited 12 percent of NRA’s contribution to the country’s GDP.
However, she said, with a visionary and determined leadership provided by both of them, they have been able to increase that percentage to 14 in just one year.
“This is way to measure our determination and commitment that President Bio’s target of NRA’s revenue contributing 20 percent of the country’s GDP by 2023 is achievable,” she stated.
Speaking on her election as BRITACOM Vice Chairperson, she said she felt honored to have represented Sierra Leone very well in a midst of countries within the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).
She vowed to do her best in a bid to live up to the expectations of numerous Sierra Leoneans.
The NRA Board Chair dedicated her achievement at BRITACOM to President Julius Maada Bio who, according to her, gave her the opportunity to serve in the capacity as Chair within the NRA.
“I will always make my president and Sierra Leone proud by adequately representing my country at BRITACOM,” she said in a very determined mood.
Sierra Leone’s Ambassador to the People’s Republic of China, Ernest Mbaimba Ndomahina, said Tuma Adama Jabbi’s victory on Chinese soil on Thursday, 18th April, 2019, speaks volume.
“The victory reflects the tenacity and spirit of a hardworking woman who would get across continents to make Sierra Leone proud. I felt very elated to have witnessed this record victory at a platform of that magnitude,” he said.
He therefore wished the NRA Board Chair a very smooth ride in the dispensation of her responsibilities at BRITACOM, adding that he has no doubts in her ability to perform.
He said the embassy stands ready to always support her in every way, and urged the young people in the hall to draw inspiration from such achievement, which should aim at nothing but to put Sierra Leone on the map at the international scene.
