He enumerated key corruption offences that are prevalent in the education sector including: offering, soliciting or accepting an advantage; influencing a public officer; corrupting public officer; bribery of, or by public officer to influence decision of public body, abuse of office and position; public officer using his office for advantage; receiving gift for a corrupt purpose. Mr. Sesay encouraged students to partner in the anti-graft crusade, stating that the one month old ACC Commissioner, Francis Ben Kaifala Esq. has declared war on corruption, therefore, it should be treated as such.

Dilating on the role of students in the fight against corruption and the relevance of Accountability Now Club (ANC) on Obasanjo Campus, Junisa Sankoh Public Education Officer, ACC stated that students and lecturers must employ the three 3R’s: Resist, Reject and Report Corruption. Junisa Sankoh encouraged students to be diligent and studious, urging them to take their academic exercises seriously. Junisa pointed out the significance of establishing ANC on campus, such as; empowers students to serve as anti-corruption ambassadors; imbibe integrity, accountability and transparency in students; and capacitates them in corruption reporting.

Earlier Principal of the College who chaired the engagement, Alhaji Sulaiman Fofanah welcomed all and gave a brief background of the institution. He said the college is owned by the Government of Sierra Leone through the National Youth Commission, and is accredited by the National Commission for Technical Vocation and other Academic Awards (NCTVA); and recognized by the Tertiary Education Commission (TEC). The college was established in 2005 with funds from the Federal Republic of Nigeria, under the Nigeria Libya and South Africa (NILISA) Project, he concluded.

The plenary session was interactive. Students asked questions and made salient contributions to the fight against corruption.
