Authoritative sources close to the Sierra Leone anti-graft agency have confided to this medium that the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has exonerated the Managing Director of the Sierra Leone Commercial Bank (SLCB), Yusufu Abdul Silla, from any intent of criminal and financial misappropriation in the purchased of fifteen operational vehicles and an official vehicle for the Bank’s Managing Director.

According to our sources, after a thorough investigation into the procurement of vehicles by the SLCB, the ACC believed that the Managing Director acted with no criminal intent to warrant proffering charges against him despite some administrative breaches.

All the said vehicles were brand new with zero mileages.

The ACC report is contrary to media allegations of financial misappropriation by the Managing Director in the procurement of those vehicles.

The vehicles, which the bank purchased, have saved the bank huge sums of money. Initially, the bank had solely depended on rentals for its daily operations.

A very reliable source from ACC also intimated this medium that the anti-graft agency has handed over recommendations to the SLCB’s Board of Directors to put strict measures in place to stop the recurrence of procurements without thorough administrative supervision.
