The former Chief Executive Officer of National Ebola Response Centre (NERC) said his new appointment is challenging but he loves difficult challenges as he believes he will always succeed.
“I succeeded in in the military and NERC, and I am going to succeed in this new appointment. I have about seven institutions that are very important in reshaping the country and I will definitely succeed.”
Talking about the clique boys, he said they have no place in this society and he is prepared to meet with them when they go against the law. “I have no time to sit with them and talk because it is not important, they should be law abiding citizens and they should not determine which colour of dress people should wear, I am telling every Sierra Leonean that they are free to wear any colour of dress and walk the streets all over the country.”
Rtd Maj. Palo Conteh said Sierra Leone is lagging behind because politics and clique boys should not hinder the development of the country. He warned them to quit the nasty habit of violence and change their ways so that they will not fall into his arms.
The minister also said that he is warning the okada riders to stop breaking the traffic rules and they must always wear their helmets. He said he understand them very well; when they are pressed they will run to State House.
“I will soon organize a round table talk with the Chief of Staff of State, Minister of Trade, Sierra Leone Road Safety Authority, the Police so that we can find an amicable settlement on how to treat the okada riders and the market women.”
The Internal Affairs Minister said he wants to see a better Sierra Leone that is disciplined and peaceful, because that is the only way the country will develop. He called on all to put politics aside and work together to build the country.
“Elections is far away and we must not lose sight of our development, when the time comes for politics we will then go to our different politics houses, but for now we must be united to make Sierra Leone a better place.
