Plan International Sierra Leone has donated a set of high-performance laptops to the Ministry of Information and Civic Education, responding to a special request from Minister Chernor Bah aimed at enhancing the Ministry’s operational and technical capacity. The devices—equipped with advanced processing power, expanded storage, and the ability to support high-quality media production and complex data tasks—will directly strengthen the Ministry’s delivery of timely, accessible, and accurate public information.
The handover ceremony took place at Plan International’s Country Office off Kingharman Road in Freetown. Speaking at the event, Minister Bah expressed deep appreciation on behalf of His Excellency President Julius Maada Bio and the Government of Sierra Leone. He emphasized that the significance of the donation lies not only in its utility, but in what it represents—a deepening partnership rooted in shared values and a common commitment to public service.
“This donation will lead to substantive improvements in our ability to deliver on our mandate—particularly in producing quality media content, processing complex data, and improving public access to critical information,” Minister Bah said. “More importantly, it is a powerful reflection of the friendship and partnership between Plan International and the Government of Sierra Leone.”
The Minister commended Plan International for its long-standing support to national development and reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to strengthening the partnership, particularly in areas of youth engagement, civic education, and digital empowerment.
Muniratu Issifu, Country Director of Plan International Sierra Leone, praised the Ministry for its leadership in driving civic awareness and public education, particularly among young people.
“This donation is made in recognition of the Ministry’s outstanding work in delivering quality public information and civic education across the country,” she said. “Plan International remains committed to supporting the Ministry’s efforts and to working together to advance our shared mission of inclusion, empowerment, and civic responsibility.”
This contribution builds on a strong foundation of collaboration between the Ministry and Plan International Sierra Leone—one that continues to promote informed citizenship, inclusive governance, and youth participation across the nation.
