The Master and Register of the Judiciary of Sierra Leone, Stephen Mansaray, officially launched the movie at the British Council Auditorium over the weekend.
Police case is a movie of several series to educate women in conflict with the law on legal proceedings.
The Executive Director of Advoc Aid, Simitie Lavaly, said Advoc Aid has been showing the movie series on the Sierra Leone Broadcasting Cooperation TV and during the “Open Yu Yai” Film Festival, but decided to launch the movie because they have now been able to secure funds to show the movie on big screens around the country.
She said they have also prepared a facilitators’ guide that will help organizations to use the movie to sensitize women on the laws of Sierra Leone.
ESQ Mansaray said many Sierra Leoneans are not abreast of issues in courts. He said despite Police Case Movie is for women in conflict with the law, it is one effective mechanism that the Sierra Leonean judiciary requires to get people aware of legal procedures in the country.
