“This is absolutely untrue and the SLP sees it as a deliberate ploy by some ill-motivated people to cause tension and distraction. However, we as the SLP are focused on maintaining our mandate of protecting lives and property,” Supt. Brima Kamara told AYV in an interview at his George Street office on Monday 7th January, 2019.

He added that IG Dr. Richard Moigbe is a very responsible leader who will never give any reckless order or command. Superintendent Kamara used the opportunity to call on every Sierra Leonean to go about their normal business as security is totally under control in the hands of the police.

He said it is understandable that some people are anxious to divert police attention from investigating, identify and prosecuting the culprits spreading such dangerous rumors for obvious reasons.

He also called on parents to send their children to school as there is no cause for alarm.
