An indigene, Kollie Osman Conteh aka KOC, disclosed that Hon. Chernor Ramadan Maju Bah helped to register Radio Bankasoka, formulate the Memorandum of Association, register the station for the certificate of incorporation gratis which other stakeholders failed to do.

He stated that the people have benefitted a lot from the radio station that broadcasts to almost all the eleven chiefdoms in the district and even beyond, trained several youths as journalists noting further that Chericoco’s support to Port Loko district is invaluable although he is not a son of the soil.

According to Kollie Osman Conteh, Hon. Chernor Ramadan Maju Bah has also donated hardboards to renovate the dilapidated radio station building, awarded scholarships to pupils from the District pursuing various courses at Fourah Bay College, College of Medicine and Allied Health Sciences (COMAHS) among other institutions in addition to supporting the two football teams in the district-Bai Bureh Warriors and Marampa Stars to participate in competitions, especially the Ernest Bai Koroma Trophy.

KOC further revealed that descendants of Port Loko would hold a meeting on Sunday 11th November, 2017 at the Human Rights Library, Central Port Loko to further show appreciation to President Ernest Bai Koroma for appointing Hon. Chericoco running mate.

Sheik Sallieu Bangura, another indigene also commended Hon. Chericoco for his valuable contributions in the district highlighting Radio Bankasoka that would not have been operational without his support reiterating that the role of the station in information dissemination and sensitization of the people on various issues need not be overstated.

Other people also spoke about Hon. Chericoco’s contributions to national development and celebrating Christmas in Makeni with over 200 pupils during which he also presented gifts, scholarships and other goodies to them concluding that even indigenes of Kamabai, Mapaki-Masabong and other chiefdoms consider him their son.
