The Old Boys of the Prince of Wales Secondary School, Class of 1993/2000, have donated Two Hundred and Fifty Thousand Leones (Two Hundred and Fifty Million old leones) to the Prince of Wales Centenary Committee.
The donation, in honor of the School’s forthcoming Centenary Celebrations in April 2025, was presented earlier today at the Prince of Wales School compound, Kingtom in Freetown.
Presenting the cash on behalf of the 1993/2000 Class to the Centenary Celebrations Committee, Samuel E.F John (SEF John), Vice President 1 OPWA, said the Class saw it fit to contribute to support the development work of the Prince of Wales Centenary Committee.
Samuel E.F John said: “As one of the best Classes of the School, we believe giving back to our alma mater, which played a significant role in shaping who we are today, is of very high importance. The donation of NLe250,000 is meant to support ongoing construction works at the School and to be part of the Centenary Celebrations.
Suliaman Rahman Kamara, President of OPWA, received the donation on behalf of the Committee.
He welcomed the Class and expressed happiness at seeing young Princewaleans supporting the efforts of the Committee. He emphasised the significance of this Centenary, marking 100 years of the School’s contributions to Sierra Leone and the world.
Class of 1993/2000 has been widely described as one of the best Classes of the School. So, for many, seeing them doing such a worthy donation is not surprising.
