The Political Parties Regulation Commission (PPRC) together with the National Democratic Institute (NDI) has completed the regional Inter Party Meetings with registered political parties in Sierra Leone.
With funds from USAID and the Consortium for Elections Political Process Strengthening (CEPPS), the meetings were held in Kono and Makeni, Port Loko, Kenema and Bo districts and discussed the eighty recommendations made by the Cross Party Committee (Tripartite Committee) on the Electoral System and Management Bodies Review.
These exercises are part of the Commission’s effort to further broaden the knowledge of the leadership of political parties on these recommendations so that misinformation will be eroded.
The recommendations were presented by NDI, followed by the progress made by the PPRC and the EC–SL with questions from the participants.
It is the hope that these participants will serve as ambassadors in explaining the recommendations to their supporters and the electorates.
The exercises climaxed with an hour of radio discussion programs in each area visited.
