President Bio, First Lady join mourners at Late President Geingob’s funeral

His Excellency President, Dr. Julius Maada Bio, accompanied by his wife, First Lady, Dr. Fatima Maada Bio, joined fellow Heads of State, dignitaries, and the Namibian public in commemorating the State Funeral for the Third President of Namibia, former President Hage Geingob, who passed away on February 4, 2024.

In a solemn expression of solidarity and respect, President Bio and First Lady Fatima Maada Bio stood amongst other global leaders to pay tribute to the life and legacy of late President Hage Geingob.

The State Funeral, is a significant moment in Namibian history, it served as an occasion for dignitaries to honour the late President’s remarkable contributions to his nation and the African continent.

President Julius Maada Bio and First Lady Fatima Maada Bio’s presence at the state funeral underscored Sierra Leone’s efforts to building strong diplomatic ties with Namibia and standing in unity during times of national mourning.

Notably, the deep bond of friendship and sisterhood between the former First Lady of Namibia, Her Excellency Monica Geingos, and the First Lady of Sierra Leone, Dr. Fatima Maada Bio, shines through as they stand together as best of friends and sisters.
