President Koroma Condemns Tribalism and Election Violence

According to Sangare the essence of the meeting with the President was for him to know that they are not happy with the issue of tribalism and elections violence in the country.

She however, called upon the President to step up and execute his duty as commander and chief condemn such practice in the country because the women and children are the once suffering most in such occurrences.

“We the women of Sierra Leone are not supporting tribalism because we married to different tribes across the country” Babara said when speaking to AYV.

Speaking on behalf of SLMWA Cecilia Binta Faulkner Chairlady Congo Town Market commends President Koroma and the government for all they have done for the nation particularly for the women and children of the country and for giving them the audience despite his busy schedule.

“Women of Sierra Leone are deeply concern about the use of tribalism” Cecilia said; adding that tribalism want to divide the people of Sierra Leone.

She added that, they have got a lot of complaint about husband beating their wives because of elections violence and tribalism, hate speeches, vulgar languages and attacks from youth across the country when in their business places.

“We are the father of SLPP and APC) Cecilia Said; adding with just a statement or command from him to them they can stop the political violence

 H.E President Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma in his statement commended the WSR-SL and SLMWA for taking such initiative and for urging him to continue paying attention to what is called a very deteriorating situation that is happening in the country which is uncalled for because the citizenry does not deserve it.

He added that, this is fourth election after the war and the all of them were peaceful despite the 1996 election which was more difficult because it was just after the war and Sierra Leone have been making progress to it despite the challenges.

“Sierra Leone has enjoyed peace for a very longtime, peace which everybody have work very hard for the country to have and sustain” President Koroma said during his speech

This elections according to the President is the most peaceful election adding that people turnout across the country to cast their ballot their fears and voting process was relative peaceful but after the election day so many concerns were raised in other for people to do the odds things.

“Election is not just about Sierra Leone internally but it also based on the rating of the country internationally as the country have come a long way to maintaining peace” President Koroma said.

“I am very happy because during my tenure as president we have nothing that treating our peace nationally with labor congress, political prisoner or teacher despite the Ebola epidemic mudslide” he said.

 He added that he very concern about the attack and issues about violence in the country as such he is not happy and that and he putting all modalities in to stop and condemn as he will continue to hold more national security meeting to stop that

“Any politician that preaches tribalism; these are cheap politicians because they want to incite people when politics is their agendas.
