In a sequence of event wherein the dynamic and result oriented Managing Director of R.C. Bank, Ekundayo Gilpin, was crowned as the African Banker of the Year by Reputation Pool International, the latter’s revealed the Vision of R.C. Bank for the Year 2024 on Friday 9th February, 2024 at a Press Conference held at the Bank facility in Kissy Road, Freetown.

In his presentation, the Resourceful MD, articulated R.C. Bank 2024 vision which he categorised into five priority areas vis-à-vis a cashless Ecosystem, Banking process Automation. Cybersecurity Resilience, Digital Transformation, and Artificial Intelligence.

He stressed on the need for expertise in rolling out these ambitious projects and informed how the bank would embark on providing capacity-building programs for its personnel thereby calling on young Sierra Leoneans to pursue professional disciplines that are in line with market demand.

According to him, a strong and resilient financial system will help to change the negative perceptions about Sierra Leone as R.C. Bank is taking its rightful position as a local Bank with a global niche to develop products that enable its customers to access financial services far and wide in the international system.

He informed that very soon R.C. Bank will begin to host seminars on cybersecurity with experts from the UK who will train Sierra Leoneans on the subject matter and stated that: “Cybersecurity has become a global concern and it is important that we put more premium on it to protect our financial system”.

Amb. Dr. Gilpin asserted how the bank will continue to fulfil its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in education, sports, environmental protection, and other areas of philanthropy as and when necessary.

Dr. Walton Ekundayo Gilpin is a professional Economist with qualifications in International relations, Finance, public policy and debt Management.

He is a seasoned and internationally recognized financial expert with over 30 years of experience managing business houses, complex policies, and processes in banking and banking-related institutions in Africa, Europe, the South Pacific, the Caribbean, and the USA.
