“Rise above partisan level, invest in national cohesion…” – Vice President, Dr. Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh appeals

Sierra Leone’s Vice President, Dr. Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh has called for the need to rise above partisan level to invest in the shared commitment to promote national cohesion.

The Hon. Vice President made this statement at the Legacy Conference of the Special Court at the Bintumani, where he also highlighted the importance of the Special Court to justice and the fight against Impunity in Sierra Leone.

Vice President Jalloh said: “I delivered the keynote address at the Legacy Conference to Raise Awareness on The Contributions of The Special Court for Sierra Leone to International Justice, Peace and Security in Freetown this morning.

“I highlighted the immense contributions of the Special Court for Sierra Leone and the Truth and Reconciliation Commission towards the transitional justice, good governance and stability in Sierra Leone.

“They have not only helped shape the establishment of democratic institutions in the country such as the Human Rights Commission of Sierra Leone but also nurtured processes and local competencies that continue to impact the justice landscape both at home and abroad. Finally, I reiterated the importance of rising above partisan divide to actively promote national cohesion which is pivotal for a stable democracy”.
