Sierra Leonean students currently studying Express Way Construction and Operation Management have called for a sustainable cooperation between China and Sierra Leone so as to enable their country to catch up with economic development. The Management of West African Operations and Management Company together with China Railway Seventh Group as part of their corporate social responsibility organized training program for twenty-eight Sierra Leoneans under the ages of 45years in Henan University, Zhengzhou City on Express Way construction and operation management for Sierra Leone.
They described China as a country with so many opportunities and are willing to move along with development in African countries. “China is a land with global opportunities where everything is humanly and technologically possible,” says one of the Students, and added that the country has a standard infrastructure with well-managed roads and subways.
Another student described China as an amazing country with rich culture and has become top in the world in terms of road and railway constructions. He said CRSG is capable of transforming Sierra Leone and the African Continent.
“We may not know what the future holds for Sierra Leone but a full-time China-Sierra Leone cooperation will bring about a better and brighter future for our country and the African Continent,” he said and further remarked that China believes in watch-word development, which has kept the country alive.
The Chinese believe that building roads serves as s basis for a country’s development.
The Sierra Leonean Students described China as a beautiful country that brings good memories in terms of their well-managed culture, friendly people, respectful citizens, and willingness to share ideas and have a philosophy of promoting the world’s development.
No longer a secret that China’s economy is growing stronger and the Asian Giant is sharing its prosperity with countries in the world, including the African Continent, which continues to enjoy a helping hand from China in a win-win development cooperation.
No doubt that China is the world’s largest developing country and the Asian country has made a commitment that on its journey to the top, it will take along other developing countries.
Currently, under the leadership of the Communist Party of China headed by H.E. President Xi Jinping, Chinese people have engaged in carrying out the strategic layout of the building of a moderately prosperous society and achieving “Chinese Dream”.
On the international stage, China was a very active player and an important driving force for world peace, social and economic development. As a responsible major power, China was committed to promoting a new type of relations featuring win-win cooperation and would continue to work with African countries like Sierra Leone to prepare the next China-Africa cooperation forum and promote and achieve a new pragmatic result so that both China and African dreams can be achieved together.
Sierra Leone has had strong, unshaken and strategic bilateral ties with the People’s Republic of China since July 1971, when diplomatic relations were established between the two countries. These ties, built on the foundation of mutual respect, have continued to witness a surge in growth. In fact, the bars of cooperation was raised higher when three months after entering into official diplomatic relations, Sierra Leone, voted in favor of United Nations General Assembly Resolution 2758, which recognized the People’s Republic of China as the only legitimate representative of China in the UN Body of Nations.
“I am sure our studies in China will play an important role in deepening China’s relations with Sierra Leone in all respects, strengthening solidarity and cooperation among developing countries, and expanding China-Sierra Leone relations,” the Students said, noting further that the concerted efforts of both sides, China-Sierra Leone relations are now in a “golden period” of rapid and all-round development.
China has over the years worked hard and forged ahead with an enterprising spirit. The Chinese have played a positive role in promoting economic and social development in Sierra Leone and the African Continent, deepening China-Africa friendship and mutually beneficial cooperation, and enhancing understanding and friendship between people of the two sides.
