The alleged armed robbers are facing multiple criminal charges, ranging from Conspiracy, Contrary to Law, Wounding with Intent, Receiving Stolen Goods to Robbery with Aggravation, Contrary to Section (23) Sub-Section (1a) of the Larceny Act of 1916, as repealed and replaced by Section (2) of Act N0.16 of 1971.

The State claimed that on diverse dates between 10th and 15th October 2018, at Waterloo in the Waterloo Judicial District in the outskirt of Freetown the accused persons conspired with other persons unknown to commit a Felony.

According to the Charge Sheet, the accused persons being armed with cutlasses, broke and entered into the premises of the complainant, Adreas Altenhof at 73 Masiaka Highway, Five Mile, Newton and carted away a fiscal cash of sixty-eight million leones, one blank mobile phone  valued at four million, three hundred thousand leones.

The Charge Sheet revealed that the alleged armed robbers also robbed off the complainant one silver colored Renovo computer laptop valued two million leones, all to the total value of seventy-four million, three hundred thousand leones on count two.

It is further alleged that on the above-mentioned dates and address, the accused persons robbed off one Maria Stenduer, sixteen million forty thousand leones, one Huawei mobile phone valued at five hundred thousand leones, including one Acer laptop computer valued at twelve million leones.

The items allegedly stolen by the accused persons include; one external drive valued at nine hundred and thirty thousand leones, one ray power bank valued at three hundred and seventy thousand leones.

Lead Counsel for the accused persons, M.Y. Kanu renewed his application for bail for his clients, but the prosecution vehemently objected to bail on the grounds that the charges preferred against the alleged armed robbers are very serious and that the prosecution is prepared to proceed with the matter on the next adjourned date by bringing forward their witnesses

The matter was prosecuted by the Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Eric Deen.

The alleged armed robbers include; Alfred Alimamy, Abass Koroma, Issa Oman Kamanda, Issa Michael, Mohamed Sesay, Alie Rahman Kamara and Omar Kamara.

Magistrate Santigie Bangura later ordered that all accused persons be remanded at the Male Correctional Centre and adjourned the matter to Monday 11th February 2019.
