Sierra Leone Ambassador to China advocates strengthened economic ties at Hubei Province’s “Go Global” Alliance

Ambassador Abu Bakarr Karim, Sierra Leone’s representative to China, recently participated in the Hubei Province “Go Global” Enterprise Strategic Cooperation Service Alliance. Established in 2019, this platform has grown to include 130 member units, becoming a cornerstone for Hubei’s foreign economic initiatives.

Speaking virtually, Ambassador Karim expressed optimism about the alliance’s potential to enhance economic and trade relations between Hubei and Africa. He quoted Chinese President Xi Jinping, who emphasized the shared destiny between China and Africa, stating: “China is the largest developing country in the world, Africa is the continent with the highest concentration of developing countries, and China and Africa have long been bound together in a community of shared destiny. We are willing to work with the African people to build a closer China-Africa community of destiny and set an example for the promotion of building a community of human destiny.”

Ambassador Karim highlighted the significance of the meeting as a collaborative effort to integrate into the “One Belt, One Road” initiative. He underscored the importance of fostering economic and trade exchanges between Hubei and Africa, aiming for mutual development and prosperity.

Encouraging participants to seize strategic opportunities, Ambassador Karim advocated for joint construction and shared benefits. He emphasized aligning the Belt and Road Initiative with African development strategies to unlock new avenues for cooperation, deepen traditional strengths, and cultivate emerging economic sectors. His call to action focused on creating innovative, win-win outcomes through strengthened partnerships.
