The Minister of Public Administration and Political Affairs, Amara Kallon, has arrived in Kampala, Uganda, leading a high powered delegation of the public service leadership of Sierra Leone to participate in the 43rd Africa Association of Public Administration and Management (AAPAM) Round Table Conference and Annual General Meeting.
The conference, themed “Agile and Resilient Public Administration Framework for Sustainable Development in Africa,” is taking place at the Speke Resort Munyonyo, Kampala, Uganda from November 26 to 29, 2024.
This year’s conference aims to challenge public and civil servants to rethink traditional governance frameworks. It advocates for the development of systems that are not only responsive to immediate crises but also adaptable to future uncertainties.
The focus is on building exceptional and robust administrative structures and capabilities that can sustain developmental momentum and harness innovations to meet the diverse needs of Africa’s growing population in the 21st century.
Minister Kallon is scheduled to lead sessions and engages in multiple bilateral meetings with his counterparts, ostensibly leading or with the goal of modernising and reforming Sierra Leone’s public sector.
