Sierra Leone and Egypt will today sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Egypt to reform Sierra Leone’s Civil Service, which will create a long-term positive impact on service delivery for the workforce.
Minister of Public Administration and Political Affairs, Amara Kallon and delegation arrived in Cairo over the weekend and were received by Prof. Dr. Saleh Elsheikh, President of the Council of Ministers, Central Agency for Organization and Administration International Relations (CAOA).
The signing of the MOU represents a key element in the strategic relationship developed between the Ministry of Public Administration and Political Affairs of Sierra Leone and the Central Agency for Organisation and Administration, International Relations Department, on whose invitation he is in Cairo.
Sierra Leone is on the path to reform its Civil Service, which will create a long-term positive impact on service delivery for the workforce. The move is also aimed at setting an improved operational procedure in Sierra Leone by leveraging the Egyptian model while structuring a joint framework aimed at exploring additional opportunities aligned with the priorities of Sierra Leone’s Public Administration and political affairs.
This, combined with innovation and sustainability across all sectors, will offer sustainable value for the government of the Republic of Sierra Leone.
During the course of their stay, the delegation will visit the Prime Minister, His Eminence the Grand Imam, the Bibliotheca Alexandria, the Public Administration Center, the Deputy Foreign Minister, Al-Azhar Al-Sherif, Chairman of the African Affairs Committee of the Parliament, and the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization. They will depart Cairo for Freetown on 17th May, 2024.
