Mariama Bashir Jalloh, representing Sierra Leone in a grand style in her first schedule at the Fatima Binta Mubarak International Female Quranic Memorisation Competition in Dubai.

September 9th, 2024 marked Mariama Bashir Jalloh’s first participation at the competitions in Dubai.

Jalloh was the participant at FOISIL’s 10th National Quranic Memorisation Competition (NQMC) who took the first position in the Female Category. Her performance at the NQMC propelled her to represent Sierra Leone at the Fatima Bintu Mubarak International Female Quranic Memorization competition 2024.

Her participation was rated quite good and tipped to be the best ever female participant Sierra Leone has ever produced at the first stage.

Many Sierra Leoneans in Dubai, witnessed the occasion in support of Mariama. Amongst the attendees are Sierra Leone’s Ambassador to the UAE, Ambassador Abdul Rashid Sesay, FOISIL’s Ambassador to the UAE, Brother Alusine Jalloh, Dr. Bashirr father of Mariama and a host of many other Sierra Leoneans.

FOISIL is grateful to its Consultant and National Quranic Memorisation Competition’s Chief Judge, Sheikh Farouk Adam Bah, for his continuous role in making sure that the right and most befitting participants, represent Sierra Leone at the international stage.

Further, the foundation ushers appreciations to Sierra Leone’s ambassador to the UAE and the wider Sierra Leonean supporters out there. Worthy of appreciation and thanks are our supporters and partners. Finally, the foundation is thankful and appreciative of its membership, especially its Regional Coordinators, for playing the preliminary and important roles of registering and facilitating knockout competitions.
