Sierra Leone’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Alhaji Musa Timothy Kabba, has officially commissioned Sierra Leone’s Embassy in Doha Qatar.

Alhaji Musa Timothy Kabba said: “On behalf of His Excellency President Julius Maada Bio, I had the honour to officially open the Sierra Leone Embassy in Doha, Qatar. Sierra Leone and Qatar enjoy excellent diplomatic relations and this new impetus will expand further, the bilateral agenda between our two sisterly states including deeper cooperation in pragmatic areas like agriculture, tourism, fisheries and construction.”
He thanked the government and people of Qatar for supporting Sierra Leone’s bid for a non permanent seat in the UN Security Council in June 2023, adding that, Sierra Leone has been able to raise its voice in the Council against injustice around the world.
The minister commended the government of Qatar for playing pivotal role in mediating the Middle East peace process between Israel and Palestine.
“There is confusion in the world but we have to be very careful that we do not lose the values that define humanity and that is what Qatar stands for,” he said.
He also engaged cross-section of Sierra Leoneans living in the State of Qatar who expressed their affirmation of the impact that the Embassy is already making in promoting the interests of Sierra Leoneans in Qatar.
Sierra Leone’s Ambassador to the State of Qatar, HE Fadlu-Deen thanked the Government and the State of Qatar for the warm reception towards the Mission and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Qatar for their continuous support.
