The Sierra Leone Police has gotten a brand new Mobile Filling Stations, to make it response to distress calls and other operational needs more effective and efficient.

Commissioning the Stations, Local Unit Commander (LUC) of Lumley Police Division, Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP), Mansaray Bob MN, recalled their challenges in responding to distress calls and other operational needs due to long queue at or closure of public filling stations.

“But with our own mobile gas stations now, we won’t join queue at public filling stations or told of no selling” said LUC Bob.

He commended the Inspector General of Police, William Fayia Sellu for putting systems and policies in place that are now aiding the efficient and effective operations of the Force.

Sales Manager of National Petroleum (NP), Vandi Bockarie, stated that business thrive only in a safe and secure environment, which he said is the responsibility of the police.

“Our partnership with the police span over 30yrs and today, we are taking the partnership to a higher height by providing a well sophisticated mobile filling stations to enable their quick response to operational needs,” he said.

Head of Stores and Filling Stations, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), Martin Jusu Samba disclosed that the mobile gas stations is installed at all the Regional Headquarters of the SLP.

The project he went on to say came as a result of the visionary leadership of IGP Sellu who thought it fit to decentralise the supply of fuel to police vehicles.
