Sierra Leone Police open recruitment drive

The Sierra Leone Police (SLP) has officially launched a new recruitment campaign, calling on both university graduates and non-graduates to apply for limited vacancies at the rank of Police Constable.

According to a statement issued by the SLP on Saturday, application forms are now available and can be collected at the Human Resources Directorate, SLP Garment Factory in Kingtom, Freetown, as well as at the Regional Police Headquarters in Makeni, Kenema, Port Loko, and Bo.

Completed applications must be returned to either the Human Resources Directorate in Kingtom or to designated Human Resources partners at the respective regional headquarters. Only application forms that have been properly stamped and signed by the Director of Human Resources will be considered valid.

Who Can Apply?

The SLP has outlined specific eligibility criteria for interested applicants:

* Must be a citizen of Sierra Leone

* Aged between 18 and 30 years

* Possess a valid National Identity Card

* Submit a certificate of good character or behavior issued by a senior government official, paramount chief, religious leader, mayor/chairperson, or local police partnership chairperson

* Be free from any criminal record and prepared to undergo a full medical screening, including drug testing

Educational Requirements:

* University graduates must possess a degree relevant to policing

* Non-graduates must have a minimum of three (3) credits in WASSCE, including English Language

All completed application forms must be submitted no later than Friday, 31st May 2025 at 4:00 PM sharp.

This latest recruitment effort underscores the SLP’s commitment to strengthening its workforce with qualified and disciplined personnel, as part of its ongoing mission to maintain law and order across the country.
